1.
First select a cheerleading camp that best suits your team’s
level and experience. (view
our current fundraising ideas) It is okay to select a cheerleading
camp that is a stretch for your squad. Don’t select a cheerleading
camp that is too easy or too hard, as your team will become disinterested
or frustrated. Cheerleading camp is all about learning and having
fun
After selecting a camp, make sure all forms including medical releases
and physical are filled out and completed by the assigned dates.
2.
Prior to camp you need to have a couple of practices before hand so
that your team does not show up unprepared. Camp is a time to learn
new stunts, cheers, dances, sidelines, and routines, so no time should
be wasted. During this time you should also set goals for your team,
whether it be learning more difficult stunts or bringing back more
cheers to use on the sidelines.
3.
To benefit the most from your camp experience make sure to write down
all of the cheers that you learn and video tape all of the stunts
that are taught. You will be given so much to learn that it will be
overwhelming to try and remember all the skills you learned once you
are home.
4.
Cheerleading camp sets the foundation for what you will be working
on throughout the season. What are your teams goals and objectives?
